Master Bath

Before:

There’s something so satisfying in seeing a space become all that was envisioned. That’s certainly what happened in this Master Bathroom. An awkward existing space comprised of two separate rooms plus a linen closet, it did not work well. A low double vanity stretched below a wide mirror. Perpendicular to the vanity was the old tub surrounded by 4”x4” white tile. In another area of the bathroom, closed off by a door, one had to squeeze past the commode to reach the stand up shower - a narrow passage into a small, floor-to-ceiling cube completely tiled in the same 4”x4” white tiles.

The homeowners barely used the space. It wasn’t inviting. It was no longer functional for them. And it was far below the standards of the other rooms in the house they had lovingly restored and renovated to their tastes.

We began with a series of meetings to listen, brainstorm ideas, and drop off tile suggestions. The actual construction took about three months including demolition and a major holiday. Materials threatened to delay things further, but thankfully everything arrived right on time.

The final product? See for yourself.

The owners had wonderful ideas on what they’d like. As we stepped into the process with them, it truly came together. The rustic pallet wall behind the free-standing soaking tub was hand-stained over lattes and great conversation one crisp, autumn day.

Serene blue walls picked up the veining in the marble floors and luxurious, walk-in, double shower walls. Vertical accent tiles defined the back walls in both the new shower and new commode rooms. Extra footage was gained by taking an unnecessary half bath from an adjoining room and turning it into a wide closet with two sliding doors.

The colors and details really make this master bathroom a welcome part of the house. Bold and classy with artistic elegance, it is now another showpiece in their beautiful, executive home!
